Chris Hinds Criterium

The 7th Annual Chris Hinds Memorial Criterium Sponsored by FUJI is coming up fast on April 11th. The race has categories for everyone. There will be lots of primes thanks to FUJI. All races will meet distance requirements for upgrade points too. This race is part of the LAJRS, MCRA, and New England Women’s Category 3/4 Race Series. Please register on line and save time and money on race day. Registration is open at here.

FUJI has generously given our race an authentic FUJI Servetto team jersey. This jersey has been signed by the members of the FUJI Servetto ProTour Cycling Team. http://www.fuji-servetto.com/ Here’s a chance for you to own a rare piece of cycling history. The jersey will be framed by April 11th. It will look great in any bicycle shop or cycling fan’s home. I will accept email bids up to 11:59 p.m. on April 10th. Bidding will continue at the race and will end at 5:00 p.m. on April 11th. Only in person bids will be accepted on April 11th. Please email me at ljlowenstein@cox.net if you would like to place a bid or have any questions. The current bid will be displayed at http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?EventID=7731

All money raised from this event goes directly to Chris Hind's son, Sam Hinds. This will be the 7th year we have put on this race. Every year we have made money for Sam. We hope that this year will be the biggest yet.

Turtle Pond Circuit Race Registration Opens

Registration for the 2009 edition of the Turtle Pond Circuit Race is now open (the first race for most of us since the fields in the Battenkill-Roubaix are already closed).  The race is on Saturday, April 25th.

The finish in last year's race was at the top of Oak Hill.  They have changed the course and added a hill on the back of the course, and the finish, instead of the top of Oak Hill, has been moved to School Street, and this will allow for a sprint finish. In previous years, the climbers had an advantage at the finish.  Depending upon your field, you will do at least 3 laps of the circuit.

Me (15th) and Pip (10th) did this race together in '07, and he dropped me on the hill at the finish.  If it had been a field sprint, I know I would have been unable to stay on his wheel.

The race flyer and course map may be found here:  www.metlifecyclingteam.com/events/turtlepond.09.php

The race is called the inferno. It is a pentathlon team competition
with each team member doing one leg of the race. The legs consist of
a 8.3 mile run, 6 mile Kayak, 18 mile bike, 3 mile hike and a 1 mile

One of the requirements is that each team must consist of both sexes.
We are in need of female bicyclist to race the 18 mile bike. The cost
