What a great season!

A fabulous potluck dinner at Tim and Cathy’s house in Marlboro last night concluded another very successful season.  This year when our Tuesday night rides got rained out, we rescheduled for Wednesday nights.  Pot luck dinners continued to be favorites, so special thanks go out to Ellen, Joyce, Andy, Arny, Sandy, Fred, Debbie, Jim, and Tim.
During my remarks last night I mentioned that we were a bit short of funds to pay for the club’s expenses. The Putney Bicycle Club incurs costs, which we need your help to defray.  Please renew your membership or join now by sending your dues to Kathy Lapan at 78 Winter Street, Brattleboro, VT   05301.  Your dues enable us to promote cycling, especially with new and young riders.  Dues this year continue to be $10 for individuals and $20 for families. Putney Bicycle Club members receive a 10% discount on cycling tops and bottoms, tires and tubes at the West Hill Shop.
Thanks once again to all of our ride planners, our new members, those that joined and renewed, and to Kathy Lapan for serving as our treasurer.
Informal show and go Tuesday night rides will continue through the fall, starting next Tuesday, September 3rd.  Rides will leave from the Brattleboro Common on Park Place at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.  As the days get shorter, we will leave a bit earlier.
Please join us for our planning meeting at the Marina on March 24, 2020.  Ride safe in the interim.

Most long-time Vermont cyclists have heard of the 200-on-100, a challenging double-century that travels from the Canadian border at North Troy to the Mass. state line, south of Readsboro. The route is mostly on VT-100, hence the name. If this one is hanging out on your bucket list, check out http://200on100.org to get inspired. The date this year is June 20, 2020. The ride first ran in 1984, and this will be our 21st edition.
