CALLING ALL BIKE RIDERS: Ride with Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) to support its unique social justice work recycling 6,000 bicycles annually with programs in Boston and nations of the Global South, empowering people and communities with sustainable and healthy pedal power. As a grassroots organization, BNB depends on Bike-A-Thon riders' sponsorship to keep its work going in its 25th year.

Chose from three scenic rides: 15, 25, or 62 miles.  Roll at your own pace.  The 15 mile ride is especially great for families with children.  We provide mechanics, rest stops with food and drink, maps of the routes, lead riders, follow vehicles, a gourmet meal at the Green Roots Festival, and great prizes.  Pre-registration is required, and riders must raise a minimum of $150 of pledges for BNB.  You may register at the website or call 617-522-0222.

The Green Roots Festival will celebrate sustainable clean living in a park that was only saved from becoming a highway by the grassroots efforts of local communities.  The festival will feature live street bands, food, pageantry, artisans, and thoughtful content on themes of water, home-improvement, urban toxins, local food, and transportation.

Mission Statement:  Lasting peace and social justice require equitable and sustainable use of resources.  BNB provides community-based education and assists development projects with recycled bicycles, related technologies and technical assistance, as concrete alternatives to the militarism, over-consumption & inequality that breed war and environmental destruction.  Our organization is part of a worldwide movement for peace and responsible stewardship of the earth.
